    is 50:1 the correct mix?

    I have a 64 johnson 9.5 and I've been using 50:1 is this correct or am I using too little?

    Why does this happen?????

    When i take the cover off the motor revs up all the way it only does it on the river not at my house with garbage can its a 9.5.

    Hey guys this motor (which I still don't know the year, the model # is mq-10s i'm guessing somewhere in the 60's) has a knob that says low speed mixture it is located next to the shift lever, it says 1-5 and underneath 1 it has an R and underneath the 5 it has an L, what is the purpose of this...

    93 octain gas why not?

    I have a 9.5 Johnson i just bought its in very good cond and runs great don't know what year it is yet but the top looks like a turtle, I know the mixture is 50:1 I've been using 93 oct gas in it and they told me not to do that to run 87 oct, do any of you know why, i figured better gas = better...
