I have replaced the old wood in the transom, the problem I am having is that I cant decide (read: make an educated decision) on how to attach it - wood screws or bolts. It has matching holes on each side of a lip that the wood slides under, would it be stronger/better if I put a bolt all the way...

Looking at the Seloc manual it shows a gasket for my Evinrude 18hp 1959 - 15028. The thermostat kit doesnt contain one and there wasnt one originally. Does this need a gasket (not the thermostat flange, the piece that bolts to the head) and can I just use the permatex stuff if so?

Have a aluminum 14' Valco that needs the handles on the backside of the transom replaced (the ones for carrying/strapping down). Having a heckuva time finding them, must be searching for the wrong terms because I cant imagine they are tough to find. Anyone have a source for these?
