So I spun the hub on Friday...took the old prop in 14 3/4" diameter, 20 pitch. It was an old style press in hub...rubber was shredded. (apologize in advance this was the only picture I took...I wasn't thinking I might need more to demonstrate the damage - or post for help)

Re: Temp Sender Audible won't go off
It is engine serial OF438792. I bought the Temp Sender Unit #806490T for the side that displays actual temp on the analog gage. It started working. The other side has a non-OEM sending unit in it...which I can only tell because it doesn't have the same...
I have read the sticky about checking the sensor wiring by grounding the wire, so I don't mean to ask a dumb question...but I'll ask anyways. I have a 5.7L Mercruiser V8. I replaced one temp sender and now my thermostat reads around 130-160 running temps once warm. But the audible alarm...
This may be a dumb question....but I don't see how I access the fuel tank to check or change the sending unit. I have a 1995 Caravelle Bowrider that was just rebuilt...stringers and transom. Engine put back in, and now my fuel gage doesn't work. I'm going to troubleshoot first using the method...
Getting ready to put the engine cover back on the I/O. It was secured with a piano hinge. Wondering if anyone has seen other options. I always thought replacing it with a pin/sleeve design made much more sense for easier removal. Is there hardware for this purpose out there already designed...
I've tried various searches but not really found what I'm looking for. I have a 5.7L Mercruiser engine and Alpha One, Gen II outdrive. The boat needed transom work, and while I pulled the engine found that one of the issues was a busted up motor mount.
I may be over thinking this, but I had...
Hope this is the right section. After struggling with a leak, pulled engine last weekend. Found soft spots on transom, up the stringer and an engine mount completely gone.
5.7L Mercruiser w/ Alpha One Gen II outdrive. I'll post pics following repair also. Took about 5-6 hours to pull the...
I have a 1995 bowrider, w/ a 5.7L Mercruiser V8 Serial# OF438792, Alpha One Gen II outdrive
I'm removing the engine this weekend to repair weak transom. First, a quick thank you; I have read the very helpful posts on that subject that suggested the lableling, photos, videos, manuals...
I tried searching and can't find any specifics, but I'll post what I've done thus far.
Boat seems to run at normal temps, but my gage doesn't ever move off far left....doesn't pick up the reading. I changed out one of the temp sending units as it was broken thinking that was the issue. Still...
Hey there, still new to boating. Have thoroughly enjoyed the first season, even though I've had many unexpected repairs, and more to come. Still have a leak that I plan to have fixed during the winter by a mechanic (transom seal so it's gonna be expensive).
Anyhow, water at the lake was down...
Re: Is this from a damaged bellows?
I drove out there today at lunch (takes me about 30 minutes) to look at some of this stuff. The billows all visually look good (though a clamp could be loose I suppose). At the transom where the outdrive is bolted up, the previous owner siliconed around the...
First time boat owner. Learning a bunch over the past few months. I have an alpha one outdrive. Purchased this boat in January and have only had the boat out twice. I noticed after the first trip that there was a fair amount of water upon pulling the plug. This second trip today I got down in...
