    Volvo AAD42 any good?

    Hello all - anyone know what kind of reputation these Volvo in line diesel engines have? I am considering purchasing one - never had an I/O boat or a diesel - only ever had out boards.... anything to look for? any problems with these engines? it has a dual prop outdrive....

    1989 Johnson 200 looper cooling problem

    purchased an old boat w/ Johnson 200.... after some messing around and new parts got it running pretty good..... out on the water last weekend, runs cool (around 140 to 150) as long as running 1/2 throttle or less..... full throttle it heats up to 170 or 180...... New complete water pump...

    1989 200 Johnson looper - water issue?

    Ok still working on the old looper new flywheel magnets, stator, rectifier, rebuilt carbs,new plugs, rebuilt VRO pump running strong! Had it on the water this weekend on a 23 ft Sea Ox cuddy and we got up to 45 MPH. Water pressure out the telltale seemed a bit lazy to me so.... Put a new water...

    pulse limiter 1989 Johnson 200

    anyone know how to test the pulse limiter? got it out ... should you be able to blow air through it both ways? How does the internal valve work?

    1989 Johnson 200 Looper

    Just purchased this boat / engine. Engine runs OK, but does not charge. Stator looks like stator has been Hot and the "varnish" has been melted off. I am going to relace the stator, but am wondering what caused this? Any ideas on what to look for? Could it have been a junk battery?
