Looking at a 50hp Merc. The picture of the motor shows all the makings on whole engine to match the 1976 Merc. The serial #is 7080268 which does not match up with the markings on the motor. What year would that serial number match if not the 1976? The guy is insisting it is a 1986 but the...
1757489 is the serial number. I am showing 1964? The guy that has it is saying it is a 1977. All the markings look to me 60's. Can anyone please confirm the year of this outboard please. Thank you.

Upon rebuilding the 2 carbs on this motor I see they are missing the venturi's. Are these a must have or will the motor run okay without having to spend 20.00 each for the venturi's.
