I have an older 4 horse evinrude. The recoil spring broke about 4 inches from the end. Can I rebend a portion of the spring and use it. See picture. Or do I buy a new one?
2001 Yamaha 115 4- Stroke........I changed my aerator pump, changed the oil and lower unit oil. When I went to start the motor it made a long continuous warning beep. I shut it off and the lights went completely dead and thats how it sits. Any ideas of where to start? Thanks.
I have a Shorelander trailer for a 16 foot boat. I was repacking the bearings today and noticed that their are shallow grooves in the spindle. I was told if the wheel fits on well that I didn't have much to worry about. Is that true? Your answers are appreciated. I have attached a picture...
My 1988 16 Foot Lund Rebel sat out in a couple of rainstorms. Now the front of the boat appears to be full of water and won't drain. It plows the water and won't get up on plane. Any ideas of how to remedy this?

I got a Tohatsu with missing lower unit parts. I am wondering if I need a gear case liner. It appears that there is a liner already but it is not removable. The parts diagram shows a liner. Do I need to put another liner in this case? Thanks!
My wife took the boat out yesterday and pulled it out of the water with the motor idling. She said it ran just under a minute. Motor still pees. Anything else I should be worried about or since it is peeing well am I fine? Thanks.
The plates that hold the bunks on my Eagle trailer have basically rusted apart. It is a single axle trialer for an 18 foot boat. I am thinking that I could get new plates welded on but the trailer is 18 years old so I have two questions? 1. Should I replace the trailer? I see no deep rust...
I cleaned my carb and went to fire it up and I had gas spilling from the carb. My guess is that I had a problem gettting the bowl gasket down tight. It is a complicated rubber gasket. My question - can I use some type of silocone or gasket sealer to hold it down. Thanks in advance for your help.
Serial number is 10822. The "dog" that engages the flywheel when the rope is pulled is worn down. It is a plastic part. I can't seem to locate the part. This is a older Tohatsu with a metal internal tank. Got any ideas as to what part number this is and where I can find it.
I ran my five horse 2 stroke Tohatsu in a tank of water. The gas was mixed a little rich. When I pulled it out black oil ran down the propeller blades. I am assuming that is exhaust oil. Right or wrong?

The tank threads are stripped and the cap won't seal. I understand this is a common problem. Anyone fixed this without buying a new tank? Can you use epoxy and the cap as a die to make new threads? Add an insert? Looking for ideas.
I bought a 4 hp evinrude at a garage sale that had fallen in the water for about a minute. The owner ran it after that and it ran fine then he put it away and it locked up. I put PB Blaster in the cylinders for the last week or so but it hasn't helped. Next steps?
