Good news and a big surprise. They will take my seat pedestals back. I’ll get store credit but immediately purchase 4 plug in seat post packages. I ordered them july of 2020. Going back to the store tomorrow.

If you replace it with a stainless bow eye and use good quality stainless hardware, you will never need to think about it again.
if you have welded, wether you flip it or not, a few years from now you will be addressing this issue all over again.
