    In-Line Fuel Filter Question

Thanks for the help y'all. I'm gonna dump the fuel from my tank, flush the lines, install everything and run clean fuel through it. I will report back my findings.

    In-Line Fuel Filter Question

You think I've got some water intrusion? I run off a 6gal portable tank and gas is about a month old, but I've only used it once in that time and it sat for several weeks before doing so. I only use ethanol free fuel. It's been super humid here, too, all month. I wonder if that's it...

It was all white really. Almost like a watered down glue appearance.

    In-Line Fuel Filter Question

Liquid. Smells like oil that's what made me think it was the fogging oil I used.

    In-Line Fuel Filter Question

Update: Cleaned top carb really good. Wasn't that bad to begin with. Then, pulled bottom carb off and found this in the bowl. What the heck is this stuff? Could it be fogging oil that I used about a month ago and it just never got completely flushed from the bowl?

    In-Line Fuel Filter Question

Thanks for the reply Chris. That makes sense. This motor has 2 carbs and I currently have them off and am giving them a thorough cleaning. We did take it out on the water last weekend and it would run as long as I stayed above 1000rpm in gear so that it wouldn't stall. Ran good at WOT, but...

    In-Line Fuel Filter Question

Hey All, I'm working on an '87 Mariner 45hp (4 cyl) and have a question re: my in-line fuel filter. I've got an OEM filter and I typically remove my fuel line after use via quick disconnect from my tanks (just for safety purposes). Is it normal for the fuel filter to lose all the fuel in it...

Mariner 45hp Carburetor Leaking after Total Rebuild....stumped!

I tried that. No, the taper angle was thrown off and the needle valve would not seal entirely. The fuel would never shut off leading it to flood constantly.

    20' Riviera Cruiser Speed Question

I just wanted to post a follow-up to this thread b/c I know that step can sometimes be forgotten. Long story short, I need to replace my lower carb and I also put a lower pitched prop on (11.8x10) as the previous one I purchased was not actually what the manufacturer recommended.. The motor...

Mariner 45hp Carburetor Leaking after Total Rebuild....stumped!

I just wanted to post a follow-up to this thread b/c I know that step can sometimes be forgotten. Long story short, I bit the bullet and bought a used carb body for my lower one and cleaned it really good. The motor has never run better! No misses, surging, or loss of rpm. I actually gained...

That's a good idea. I had not thought of that. Thank you again for the helpful information!

Mariner 45hp Carburetor Leaking after Total Rebuild....stumped!

Yes sir, I had thought of that. Finding a replacement is next to impossible. Can't get Walbro support on the phone when you call. I also considered having a machine shop fab one up, but costs are so expensive that it just isn't worth it. I found one on eBay for about $65, so we'll see how this...
