I have a 1985 Johnson 70 HP with two problems
1) Ever since I have had the boat, the oil level gauge doesn't work. I have the correct plug in the back of the throttle. It appears that it is hooked up to the trim gauge (LOL). When i tilt the motor ahead, it goes to full.

I have just gotten a 20Hp chrysler, 25$ runs fine, Lower unit does not shift.
I took it off and manually pull the rod up and down and nothing. Is there a repair site for this stuff. It seems like the 20Hp parts are hard to find.
Is it easy taking one appart?
