I have a 1971 800 80hp Merc. serial 2990036. The (3) trigger wires coming out of the dist. housing are shot. These wires are almost down to the nub at the housing. Can I cut away some of the rubber grommet to expose more wire? Is there any "slack" inside to pull out?<br /><br />I'd like to...
