I was just given a 67 14' thunderhawk 'bass boat?' w/a 33hp johnson and since i know about as much about it as i do women could someone please tell me if it's a 2 or 4 stroke and what lubricants would be best for me to use and where. Thanx:confused:
So Iv'e started tearing down the 175 OMC in my boat and there's so much rust that it looks like I need to replace the starter, carb, manifolds and rebuild the motor and outdrive. Would I be better off looking for a good used motor and outdrive (upgrading) and just going that way?
I'm finally taking the plunge and got the boat in front of the garage and am going to tear it down beginning tomorrow. ANYBODY have any last minute suggestions or tips? It's a 77 fiberform w/OMC175(ford302) and an OMC175 sterndrive. Is there anything I should look for or give extra attention to...
I'm gonna yank the motor in the near future and want to know if I can pull the sterndrive at the same time? If not do I have to support the sterndrive in any way so as not to damage anything? It's an inboard/outboard OMC175(ford302) w/a175 OMC drive.
I'm wondering if there's any reason why I need to crack the case on the sterndrive behind my motor? I'm rebuilding the motor cuz it wasn't winterized and the block cracked. The thing only had 250 hours on it when it happened and then sat almost 10 years now. If there's no rubber in the...
I have a 77 20 or 21' Fiberform and am try'n to figure out what model it is. The tag starts out SF but after that I'm clueless. It has a cabin with a fridge, sink, closet and table that drops down to make a bed big enough for two. There's no seats in the cockpit and a couple of rod holders near...
I have a 77 fiberform (20 or 21') and i'm try'n to find out what model it is. The tag starts with SF so I thought it was a sport fiisher but the definition column on fiberforms doesn't describe one like mine I hope the one pic is enough for someone to identify the model.
I have a 77 20' fiberform with water in the oil. I got the boat this way 2 or so years ago and am getting ready to go thru it so i can use it next year. This is my first boat since I was young and I don't have any experience working on boats. I do work on my vehicles and some others so I'm not...
