    60 Hp merc question.

    I am new to the forum. I am looking to buy a used 2004 60 HP four stroke mercury and put it on my houseboat. Everything seems fine, except the cable box. I will need longer cables. My question is, can I run new control cables,or do I need to buy a new control box?
