Just took it out on the water. Running good. I have the oem points but didn’t put them on. It’s running about 4000 rpms at wot so it’s only about 200 rpms off, very close. I’m going to adjust with the analog tach/dwell meter when it gets here and hopefully get it dead on. Have a small water leak...
I think part of my issue was the fuel filter. It was filthy and barely any fuel in it, put a new one on and it filled right up like it should. I am using an aftermarket set of points, I guess that could be why I can’t get the right measurements. I’m going to order an oem set of points and find...
So what’s the dwell suppose to be on that engine? Not set right would cause low power? Still need the carb specs because the air screw and the idler screw are way out of wack now.
No I didn’t use the dwell meter, and I have the workshop manual. Doesn’t tell ya how to set the carb. I need the service manual but that’s unavailable. Timing is bang on.
It was kind of weird actually, I’d have the throttle wide open, and I’d hear it start to try to speed up for a split second and go right back down. I’m not sure what’s going on with it
Anyone have the specs to adjust the carb 1984 on Volvo penta aq125a ? I took it on the water today for the first time this season, it wouldn’t idle right so I adjusted a screw, idled good, went out and it wouldn’t go over 10 mph. At full throttle it was at 3k rpm’s and 9 mph it should be 4800 at...
This site has a bunch of different answers for what it should be in neutral and I only have the workshop manual so wasn’t sure. It idles down to about 700 when I put it in gear at idle speed. I have all the specs for the carb so I’ll see if I can get it right by adjusting it. If that doesn’t...
It idles down , a thread I read said it should be 1100 rpm’s when in neutral and 700 rpm’s when in idle gear …I’ve been doing it in neutral not in gear so that may be my problem?
So it’s running pretty good actually better than ever starts first turn…according to what I have looked up the idle ignition timing should be 6 degrees at 6-700 rpm’s and 32 degrees at 4200 rpm’s ….right now I’m at 12 degrees at idle but I’m idling at 1200 rpm’s ..and I’m at 35 degrees at 4200...
