    is it worth converting my 1970 Evinrude 25HP from pull start to electric?

    I had some concerns about not being able to start my engine quickly in case I started getting swept out into the ocean. The engine has been very well maintained, and it starts up readily. I'd like to keep the cord as a back up and convert over to key start, as I am not a Spring chicken anymore...

    I just aquired a 1986 115 Suzuki. We checked the compression in all the cylinders, and they all read 122. My question is: does anyone know what the compression should be in this engine? Would a leak down test be more accurate? I'm new at this. Thanks
