Hi guys,
I would like to know what will be a comparable SS prop for the Mercury Vengeance, Solas ? Turning Point ? else ? I mean that it will give the same result in term of max RPM / speed - same cruising speed, in other words that will give the same or more efficient than the Mercury...
Now that I have made decision to stay with aluminum prop, here is where I need a bit of help. With the original Black Max prop 13.25 X 17P that came with the engine and on which I broke a blade my 115-HP Merc 4 strokes 2007 was making around 6100-rpm and near 40-mph and this with the anti vent...
I made a lot of reading here and on other forums about running a SS prop on an engine smaller than 150-HP and often it is said that it is not valuable, because there is not enough torque from smaller engine, because for an engine running slower than 50-mph there is no need for SS prop and so on...
The difference between pitch sizes - is it the same range for a 3 blades and a 4 blades.
I mean knowing that it is a +- 200-rpm per inch on a 3 blades, is it the same range for two different pitch 4 blades prop ?
Thanks

Is a trolling plate like the Easy Troller to mention one, acting up the same as an hydrofoil - meaning it will drag in turns or it is set higher or farther on the AV plate and it will not affect the control of the boat.
Thanks
MC
Someone told me that it is more difficult to back up with a 4 blades prop...
What you think of this -is it true or not ? anyone had experience this ?
Thanks

Here is my problem, last year I bought new boat Princecraft 176 2007 with a Merc 115-HP 4 stroke. Of course it was slow to get on plain - out of the hole, the engine was mounted on the top hole and the AV plate was at about 11/2 inche below keel. So I raise the motor one hole at a time and...
I am looking to get a second prop for my boat,
My rig is a Princecraft Pro 176 - 2007 - 1400-lbs aluminium
Engine is Mercury 115 - 4 strokes - prop is a Blackmax 13 1/4 X 17 P (alu)
RPM range is 5800 to 6400 at WOT.
Actual performance is max RPM of 6200 to 6300-RPM - max speed on GPS is 38 to...
What is best - the SS tabs or the SX composite tabs ?
Also on aluminium boat, is it gonna hold OK - I mean with time any possible screws problem like becoming loose with time by stress and vibration ?
I don't want to have them becoming loose and having to fit bigger screws.
Thanks
Cloumar
I am looking to buy a another prop for my new motor Mercury 115-hp 4 strokes 2007 - with the range of 5800 to 6400-rpm and keep the BlackMax original as spare, and I am looking for a Hustler, since I had good result with the one I had on my older boat. But when I look at the prop selector of...
Does anyone know how is doing the new generation of 4-stroke from 2007 and up ? Are they doing good so far, any major problem, or any weakness ?
I am looking for feedback on 90 or 115-hp.
Thanks
Mario
Hi guys,
I need your thoughts on this engine Johnson 115-HP - 1998 - cause I have a chance to by a very clean used boat and this is what is on it as for main engine.
Any problems that you know of on those ? about the oil injection system, is it reliable or they are problem system ?
And about...
