My 9.5 sportwin won't idle and I can't even rev it without it stalling out. the motor does start right up and I have to keep the choke open for it to run. im using fresh gas and new plugs. any ideas? im getting gas so im thinking its an ignition problem but I dont know how I would troubleshoot...

I just picked up a 22foot center console with a 1986 dt 200. the motor had some problems staying at idle. I got it to idle but at a very high rpm. somewhere around 1200. I took it for a test drive and at wot it would only reach 3000 rpm. but in neutral it rev all the way to 5500. any thoughts?
