    Measuring old steering cable ?

    Can someone help me figure out if I have a 12ft or 13ft steering cable.........do I measure the rod on the end of the cable that goes thru the tube on the motor, or just measure the cable?........... and are the new telefex cables as stiff as the old ones? ...
