    79 70hp lower unit

    after dropping the lower,i turned it upside down and a(cam)from the small splined shaft in the most foward part of the unit fell off.i did not see this until after i took off the prop.the shifter is in the foward most position.how do i find out which way to put this (cam)back in so that it all...

    trim/tilt

    i have a 79 70hp without power t/t.is it possible to switch to pt/t without to much trouble?if so what will i need and from what motors can i source the parts from.thanks for any and all help.

    79 700 series bets

    okay here we go.you can see from my other posts what i have done.i just tried to back flush the telltale at the block,no good.air just comes out the slots in the lower unit.here is where the bet comes in.i think that there are 15 bolts on the thermostat cover.out of those 15,how many will i snap...

    new to forum.i have a 79 70hp merc.it will only run on plane at wot.ive done the following.rebilt carbs,new powerpack,new plugs,rebilt fuelpump,new rectifer,cleaned fuel filter,fresh gas.as soon as i easy back on the gas it slows way down.its on a 17ft bowrider.ive been fighting this all...
