Mariner DVA readings at ignition coil

Thanks for the excellent suggestions. They didn't help, but I get where you're coming from :) I was thinking there might be some kind of fault in the coils themselves which is adding the interference. The old ones meet ohm specs and spark across a 7/16" gap, but it's possible the sparks are...

Mariner DVA readings at ignition coil

Yes. The DVA doesn't seem to steady out the multimeter when measuring across the terminals and the engine is running. Only when cranking.

Mariner DVA readings at ignition coil

I'm looking at the electrics of a rough running Mariner 60hp. Red stator, trigger, adaptor, switchbox, and coils all check out according to DVA and ohm specs. When I measure the cranking DVA from the switchbox to the ignition coils, I get a steady 275v on all three. When the engine is running...

    Testing a red stator kit

I have a red stator on my Mariner 60. Wires coming out are green, white, plus the two yellows of the charge coil. Anyone know what the specs are for this stator? Ohms and Peak Voltage?

    1995 Mariner 60hp cylinder compression

Thanks for the input. Yeah, looks like my attempt to rebuild from the best parts I have is not going to pan out. The hone looks good, but 90psi hot is pretty low for this engine I think. I was told by someone else they began with 140-145? Can anyone else confirm that?

    1995 Mariner 60hp cylinder compression

I've got a couple of 94-95 2 stroke Mariner 60hp engines. Both have compression issues, but I'm hoping to rebuild a good one out of the two by honing one block and using the best of the remaining pistons and rings. I've got 105psi across all three cylinders cold, but she runs rough and...
