The mechanic that I use was just telling me that the fuel pump is going to fail because I disconnected the VRO. I plugged it and added the oil to the fuel. The motor is a 96 Johnson 150hp. Anyone ever heard of this?
I just rebuilt the carbs and put them back on and now the engine is sputtering or "coughing" at idle speeds and in neutral idle. Any ideas? I have also noticed a hesitation at throttle up. It runs fine and speeds.

I have 1996 johnson 150hp. It cold starts great. I will run on plane for 30 min or longer and shut it off when I get to a fishing spot. when I go to leave it is hard to restart. It will start then sputter out a few times and then it goes. I just rebuilt the carbs and it still didnt help. Any Ideas?
