    Motor won't kick in

    1992 88 hp Johnson. Motor will turn over and over and will not kick in. Positive connection on the battery started smoking after about 30 seconds of trying to start...stop...start....stop.

    Getting Lower Unit Dropped - '92 88hp Johnson

    I am tyring to learn how to do this so that I can change the impeller. Took out the 4 bolt/screws (2 on each side) on the bottom side of the motor. Nothing budging. Is there another screw that I take out? Do I mess with the gearcase trim tab at all and that screw?

    88 hp water problems

    Got a 92 model 88 hp Johnson that does not shoot water out of the pee hole consistently when in idle. Give it a little gas and get going = get a good stream. Am I looking at water pump problems?
