I have a question about an 89 evinrude 60hp needs lower unit. I do not know the spline on the 89. I have a lower unit I think about 1976, was used on 1977 70hp same 20in shaft length 4 spline manual shift. Works fine. Will this work with the 89 60hp 20 inch shaft engine? Thanks...

Does anyone know what year Evinrude/Johnson changed how they rate horsepower? I know the HP used to be rated at the base of the powerhead. It was changed to being rated at the prop.....What year? Thanks, Chris
