    Nothing easy about old motors!

    thanks for the info tropper. Hey nice to here from somebody in southern ok. i'm from Healdton. The boat and motor was my grandpa's and I thought it wouldn't take much to get running, but this starter rope is killing me.

    What year is it?

    Is my motor a 67' model? It has mercury 200 cover. But some of the writing is worn off the plate. I can read Kiekhaefer and the serial # is 2298805.

    1967 Mercury 200 20hp

    The starter rope broke on my 1967 merc. 200 20hp. I installed a new rope, but can't get the inertial locks to catch the fly wheel when it is pulled?? :confused:
