I just picked up a 1977 Sea swirl with a 115 Evinrude outboard motor (4 cylinder)
1) How can I find out what year motor I have?
2) Steps to do to motor before I turn it over?
3) I going to rip out the floor.. any advice?

I have an OMC 5.7 Litre 1986 Reinell..
Fuel pump went bad tring and I am trying to install a new one...
The rod comes down on the cam shaft and I suppose to hold it up and slip in the fuel pump lever so its under it..
Man ... I can get it under but cant seem to start the bolts, keep gasket...
I have a cracked powerhead in number 2 cylinder with 2 cracks running from the middle to the top of the cylinder...
Can this be repaired by a machine shop?
I am the one who bought the boat without checking it out first...
On the hunt for a used motor.. Have a 1985 Bayliner with a 125hp blown motor..
Any ideas besides craigslist...?

Just recently bought an 85 Bayliner with a 125 hp Force.
Did not have a lot of power first time out..
Changed out ignition (because it fill apart) then the primer bulb.
I put new plugs in and it was spewing gas out of the carbs..
I took it to a guy whos been wrenching over 30 years...
Recently bought a 87 bayliner with 125 hp force engine..
With more than 3 people in the boat .. could not pull or plane
Ignition switch went out, along with primer .. was stranded on the lake a few
Put New switch .. works fine
New Primer bulb along with spark plugs.
Started intially and ran...
Just bought me a nice lemon trying for some ade...
Ran great first time out..
2nd time out ignition switch fell apart and the primer bulb had a hole in it...
Replaced primer bulb, ingnition switch and put new plugs in..
Ran strong first 5 minutes..
Now want start.. gas streams out of...
