Thank you so much. I looked on a couple of sites,.including this one and Crowley Marine. The diagrams are very good, but none showed the nozzles. I found a set of carburetors on Ebay. I will tinker with this one once I get it going. Thanks again for your help. Believe me, I need it. 😁

I changed the fuel tank, and it helped it to idle longer and smoother. Also adjusted the carburetor linkages. After the startup and longer idling, I pulled my carburetors and put the new kit in the lower one. When I pulled the upper o e apart, I noticed the small brass nozzle inside the larger...

Thank you, DW. Most of what you just told me I will have to wait until I get my manual in the mail. The issue seems to be only at idle right nnow.I feathered the throttle at the carbs. It revved up real good and sounded good. That's why I'm leaning towards the tank.

Thank you, DW. I have thoughts it might be the pickup tube in my tank. I got a couple of more tanks from my Brother I'm going to try tomorrow. I put a new fuel pump on, the screen is clean. I just bought an inline fuel filter I will put on before hooking up the other tank.

Thank you. I had replaced the fuel pump also. I may need another tank. Something rattles around inside this one. It looks pretty old. I do know the gasket on the tank is bad.

Oh, both plugs have good spark. Compression is 150 on both cylinders.

Thank you Crosbyman. I have taken the carbs partially apart and discovered a missing screw in the bottom carb. It did much better, and throttled up real well. Still wouldn't stay idling without feathering the choke or pumping the bulb. I have kits coming Friday. I will remove the carbs again and...

    1976 55 HP Johnson

I have a 1976 55 HP Johnson my wife bought me for Christmas. I changed the fuel line and fittings. I also purchased new gas. It won't stay running without feathering the choke. Seems to be starving for fuel. Any help appreciated.
