Hi I was wondering what would work really good to clean the splines in my engine coupler. I noticed there's alot of old grease and other stuff that's kinda hard and I wanna get them splines completely clean and re-greased before putting my outdrive back on. I have a feeling that's why I have a...
So would this cause my gimbal bearing to wear out quicker. I'm asking because before I bought the boat whoever worked on it didn't know what they were doing and this is why I'm having this problem. I think my motor has been replaced. Out of 20 years of boating I've never had this problem before.
So once I have that tool made it should slide right through the gimbal bearing and right into the back of the motor without any problems. And it shouldn't be hard to slide in the back of the boat?
Hey everyone I'm back so a month ago I replaced my bellows and gimbal bearing. Well now my gimbal bearing is making a scratching noise but not to bad when I did the job the first time I had a hell of a time pulling my outdrive. My cousin had told me that my motor was too low and had to be raised...
I had the problem before the bellows were replaced. My cousin checked over my work as he is a certified marine mechanic. I do have a transducer but them holes are sealed with a marine epoxy. My bilge pump will run twice In 24 hours. As far as filling the boat with water im at the end of my rope...

First of all my starter did get wet.secound a the camera I have will do everything a bore scope would do.my raw water pump is brand new and my y pipe isn't leaking I already checked that.
So I have a 1996 wellcraft excel 21sl boat with a volvo penta 5.0fl motor. When I did my gimbal bearing and bellows I noticed these 2 oval looking rubber pieces in the bottom of my y pipe for the exhaust. I guess they are my old flappers. I bought new ones but I also read somewhere not to put...
Pull your fuel line off your carburetor and and put the end of your fuel line in a bottle and turn the motor over and see if u got fuel pressure. It should fill that bottle very quickly. A 16oz bottle will work. If it doesn't fill that bottle more than half way in about 5 seconds of turning it...
