I have a 1972 Mercury 402 40 HP that runs great at idle, but when you hammer down on it, it boggs down and goes very slow. Some people are telling me that it sounds like the high speed jet but if om not mistaken, there is only one jet for both low and high speeds. Here is a drawing so...
Does anyone know how to adjust the two arms that the float pushes up into the needle on a Mercury 1972 402 40 HP. I know you can bend them to change when they contact the needle but dont know the factory specs or measurements. Can someone tell me or guide me in the right direstion to find this...
