Hey folks...Started the boat up for the season, and she ran great. Put the boat in gear and nothing. My neutral button is stuck. I have the assembly off but cannpot figure out how to remove the main gear to see the spring assembly underneath...HELP!!!!!!

Was out boating, engine was idling great and running well. Engine would not exceed 2400RPMs. Upon examination, I realized that the distributor cap was very loose and the housing had cracked not allowing it to tighten down. Bought new parts. Made a massive mistake...forgot to mark wire locations...
