I have a 1982 60 evinrude that over revs for a few seconds after being taken out of gear. I have full power and no other problems with the motor. What could it be?
I have a 1983 60 hp Evinrude that is giving trouble on and off. I have now discovered the that the problem is a fault in the kill switch system. When I disconnect the kill switch then she starts and if I reconnect while she is running then she dies and I get a slight shock. She runs very well...
I have a pair of '83 60 hp Evinrudes that are running like a dream BUT the throttles leave a lot to be desired. There is a great deal of play and very little sensitivity in the control arms. Can these be adjusted - I think they might need to be replaced but these things are scarce in South...
I have a 1983 60 hp Evinrude motor that I use for trolling for gamefish. It cut out on me twice on my last trip. It was running well and would then stop dead - no spluttering or misfiring! I then used it again for an hour aftwerwards and it was fine. Should I worry about this? What could it be?
My 60 hp '83 electric start evinrude has been cutting out as it goes into gear. There are noises that sound like arcing and I have seen some blue flashes around the bottom plug lead when running her with the cover off at night. I have also not had the power I should when she does run properly -...

I have an '83 60 hp evinrude and I am amazed at the low consumption. I did 60 miles on Sat and 40 miles on Sun and used 60 and 40 liters respectively (25 liters = 6,6 gallons). Is this normal for these motors? I am also very impressed with the power output. Is this normal?
I have an '83 60 hp Evinrude that is regularly blowing the 25 Amp fuse on the motor - I discovered the the fuse holder is rather loose and the fuse sits loosely in it. Could there be any other reason for blowing the fuse?
I have water leaking out very slowly around the top spark plug on my 60 evinrude '83 model - the motor runs very well for a few seconds and then starts mis-firing. I replaced the cylinder head gasket but the problem persists. What could it be?<br />Is there another gasket near that plug?
