    Jet drive for 22ci 25hp Johnson/Evinrude ‘69-73?

Does anyone know if they ever made a jet drive conversion kit for 22ci OMC 25hp? I came across one photo online of one but could not find any other info. Be fun project to turn one of mine to a jet. Thanks

    1970 Evinrude 18hp Trottle issue

Maybe recheck compression with different tool to make certain the compression is low. I would go ahead and replace the head-gasket now that it’s off. If that doesn’t fix it…. Maybe get it running and use timing light to see if your dropping a cylinder, intermittent spark/only running on one...

What type of gas tank for '79 Johnson 35hp?

I purchased two of these on eBay few years back for my plastic 6 gal tank. The stock cap was awful and would not vent properly due to new “safety” requirements . This cap allows the new tanks to vent properly. Shop around and can get cheaper. Worked for me for my 70’s Johnson’s.

1972 25hp evinrude water over flow issue

One of mine didn’t have one. Forgot why people remove them. Just order a new one with new gasket and don’t look back. Or test the one you found after you clean it up. Put it in hot water and see if it opens etc

    Idle issues

If all else fails, run a can of this stuff. It helped one I had issues with low idle. After I ran a can of tuner, it now idles nice and low. Johnson Evinrude OMC Engine Tuner

    Idle issues

Part 35 sometimes gets stuck inside the carb and could be damaged. If you haven’t already done so, inspect part 35 that little piece of plastic can get damaged or broken especially when soaking in carb cleaner etc. other than that, try hooking it up to a timing light when running and make sure...

    1972 evinrude 25hp sparkplugs

J6C run better on these than j4c. Stick with Champions and make sure they are gapped to spec. I have a 70,71,72 25hp Johnson and all run J6C. Also clean points every few months if it starts running like crap. Plugs are cheap, if they get fouled, replace.
