    I bought a boat with a 1976 Johnson 70hp "seahorse". What does "seahorse" mean. Is this motor made for salt water? Motor purrs like a kitten.

    I am going to change plugs on my 1980 140 IL6. The manual recommends champion plugs, the plugs that are in the motor now are NGKs. Should I put champions in like the manual recommends or but NGK plugs back in. Or is there a better plug out there. I'm looking for the best plug for the money...

    leaky plugs on carb

    I rebuilt my top carb over the weekend, now the brass plugs on the carb is leaking. Anything to to seal the threads and/or the plugs themselves?. Thanks.

    How fast should I be going??

    I just recently purchased my 1st boat. It is a 1989 Wellcraft, 17'(1100 lbs)It has a merc 140 L6 pushing it. My speedo says I'm going 28 mph, 5700 rpms. To me that seems slow for the rpms. My friend has a 16' ski boat with a 90hp merc and reaches 47mph. He mentioned a new prop. Will a different...
