Should I part it out or donate? 1986 Renken AQ125 270 drive.
I have not checked with charities yet to see if they even want this old of a boat.
My engine is worn out, again, and rebuilding these little motors has gotten too expensive.
Did not splash it yet this year, but it;s been in the water...
Getting ready to order a new steering system.
My original is Telefex model number not found.
It has a little less than 3 turns lock to lock, may have been original equipment.
Why would a boat need the no-feedback system?

We are going to try and watch the Air Show from our sailboat on the Atlantic Ocean.
Coast guard to enforce a 3/4 mile out no-boating zone along the beach.
Anyone else going?

Was the new website beta tested?
I got an email reading 'CHECK OUT NEW WEBSITE?
When I clicked on the link, the website opened in Explorer IE-11 with Windows 10, but too wide, top menu with phone number cut-off.
(I know I can make my screen smaller to fit, but that should be automatic right...
Well, I did a lot of measuring and bought a ball bearing. Test fit it with a spare crank and my bell housing ( while off of the engine.)
Seems to do the job.
Put boat all back together and got the timing belt off by one tooth :-(
I am tired of jumping down two feet into my boat.
I need strong folding seat such that when folded down, I can stand on it to climb out of my boat.
Right now the boat has two homemade seats in stern.
Who makes a sturdy seat?
It does not need to swivel, I may build a box to bolt it onto.
So, I pulled my engine for maintenance and found no ball bearing in the end of the crankshaft. There is a small donut adapter which looks like it was meant for an automatic transmission (engine in boat is not original).
I've pulled it out of the crankshaft and set it on my outdrive splined...
So, I pulled my AQ131C and found two rubber parts between the bellhousing and the 270 stern drive.
T he big donut is still available from Volvo.
The "rubber bumper" is out of production.
Anyone have any ideas what to do?
I was thinking trying to make one out of silicone.
The part number is 804210.
I started tearing down my B230 engine with an AQ131C label on the air cleaner(spark arrester). I found the camshaft has the letter "M stamped in the end, so
I'm guessing a previous motor swapped a car engine. I've seen "A" camshafts on e-bay so it looks like I will be spending more money on my...
I am pulling my AQ131 engine, and with the transmission off of the sterndrive, my bell housing 'snout' looks like it is installed wrong.
The part where the u-joint bellows connects has a long part.
Should this long part be in the 6-oclock position?
And at this point, I am guessing the...
We moved the sailboat Saturday and stayed alive
Left Forked River NJ and ran aground in Barnegat Bay.
Tossed a small anchor out about 20 times till it caught.
Winched a 12000lb boat off the sandbar by hand.
Fog was still heavy so we tied up at a commercial dock and pissed off the locals...
Re: overheating above 4000rpm
Old thread but I found closure.
After checking all the simple things, I gave up and put on a battery powered electric booster pump and sight gauge to get through last season.
The only thing that puzzled me was the waterpump housing end plate and internal face...
On a NEW pump.

The cover plate inside surface.
Should it be flat or hollowed out to match the cam.

Does the copper core (red arrow) pull out once the front cover is off?
Do the plastic parts on the backside need to be unscrewed first?
I did not attempt to pull on this, but guessing from the foam rubber and round bumpers, it should pull out easily.
The gasket is ruined, would RTV be enough...
