I was hoping someone could help explain how to replace the head gasket on my motor. Noticed water coming out of top spark plug and from what i read it is most likely a blown head gasket. I am somewhat mechanically inclined but would appreciate some advice especially on what the to tightening...
I have a 1983 merc 35 hp that has power tilt and trim. I would like to upgrade to a bit more power. I am looking at a 50 hp mercury from the 70's (don't know exact year) that has no trim or tilt. Will the the 35 hp trim and tilt fit on the 50hp as well as the controls? Attached is a picture...
Maybe someone can help me. Bought motor last summer and owner said has not run in 2 years. Did compression check and got 115-120 in each cylinder. Installed new waterpump and impeller, new sparks and new lower gear oil. Battery is charged and working. What am I doing wrong! Any suggestions...
Took apart a 1969 glastron V-163. New floor and transom. The hull spread about 2 inches while working on it. Now trying to reattach the top to the hull and put on rubrail and struggling. Any suggestions?
struggling big time removing lower unit. i removed all the bolts and (2 twisted off and broke), trim tab bolt, other big bolt underneath, and shift linkage........nothing moves at all. seems like the lower unit is almost fused to the upper unit. banged on it with rubber mallet but nothing...

Could anyone help me figure out how to install new stringers in my boat. Removed floor and rotten stringers. Not real sure on how to measure and cut stringers properly. Center stringer seems to be curved but too rotted to make a template for. Other 2 stringers seem pretty straight forward...
