I have a new to me Johnson 120 HP that was in a boat bought last year. I've finished a few tasks since then :
complete rewire,
addition of fuse panel,
addition of defunct alarm at helm that was disconnected and dead(new radio shack buzzer) ,
new neutral safety switch in controls,
changed lower...

Ok. I'm just clarifying because I am doing the same thing.....I have a 1992 Johnson 120HP with VRO. The alarm that was shot had a purple wire and grey wire on the "+" side male blade , brown wire on the "-" side male blade, and a separate black...
My outbaord is marked as an OMC Mod# VJ120TLAND Ser# G 03005947. The TLAND is confusing me and I cant find much info beause it doesnt seem to follow the letter conventions to identify the year. Any one have any info on th eyear and why the strange lettering?
I am having a problem with power when more then one person is in the boat. Its a 1970 15 ft Crestliner (Fiberglass) with a 6 gallon gas tank, a battery and two reclinable seats in it. Its a 50 HP evinrude lark (1971) and has good compression.
I have noticed that the motor splashes to the sides...
