I have a 305 Chev Mercruiser pkg installed 1974. Leg replaced with Alpha1, transom plate is original (#5989551). Original engine # was 5945680 . Original leg was 5925623. Both engine and leg replaced twice.

my 305 Chev is always hard starting when left for a few days, well maintained, Rochester carb. Fires instantly when warmed up.
I'm considering adding a small in line electric Carter fuel pump to expedite the fuel delivery when starting cold.
Appreciate comments as to whether this is worthwhile.
