    checking spark plug wires

    other than pulling the plug and visually checking the spark on the block, is there an easier way to check. is it alright to use a electrical tester. i need a way i can check by myself.

    ENGINE WILL NOT START AFTER ELECTRICAL SHORT

    I have a Evinrude 140, 1979. I had a short in the battery harness. I replaced the cables and the relay,and moved battery back to transom. It turns over, but will not fire. It seems like I am not geeting any spark. what else, besides the relay could of been damaged? Where should I start?
