I recently noticed black(or burnt) oil under my 115 merc. It is coming out from between the prop and the housing. A small amount but it is worrying me. Where is it coming from? Can't be LU oil because the leaking oil is BLACK. Any ideas anyone?
Anyone out there in motorboat land that can tell me the year of my 115
Merc outboard? S#A127960 MDL#1115762. And is there a certain depth the prop should be in the water. As in too low to cause problems to get up on plane? How do you know when you need a jackplate?
