I bought a boat on a trailer but the previous owner left the hand brake on and the brakes have locked on.
The boat and trailer are in a hard local to me but once I get the bits and pieces sorted on the boat I will be sea trialing her.
Any tips for releasing the brakes
Hi my 8hp mercury outboard 4 stroke year 2007 struggles to pick up if you accelerate quickly which makes me think an air leak but also my engine oil has slightly emulsified.
I recently changed the engine oil.

I have a mercury 8hp 4 stroke 2007.
I'm servicing the engine including pulling and stripping the carbs.
Looking at the parts catalogue the only difference between the 8hp and the 9.9hp is the main jet and main jet retainer.
I am considering buying the parts to just experiment with it...
