    Ignition Problem

    1992 Evinrude 50 ex Vro<br />Starts fine,tickover fine but wont rev consistently.When it wont rev if I stop and start it several times fault will clear,when it starts and revs ok cant fault it.<br />Checked fuel system right thro. Suspect sensor coil or powerpack.<br />Can anyone confirm this ?

    VRO removal

    I've replaced the vro unit on my 1991 Evinrude 50 with a standard fuel pump,the block was already drilled and tapped.<br />I've blanked the VRO vacuum hole, unplugged the electrics and removed the pump, oil pipe and tank<br />and now I run it on 50:1 premix<br />Is this ok ?

    Sorry,forgot to mention,the fuel system was the first thing I checked.<br />I still suspect electrics.<br />Had a problem with power to starter solenoid last year.<br />Turned out to be bad connection in the main loom<br />plug/socket.<br />I haven't got as far as the water yet,still running on...

    I'm running a 1991 evinrude 50 1992 spec AE50TLENJ #G03112133 with power trim and tilt and full remotes.<br />Rebuilt the Power Head last year due to VRO problem.<br />Trashed VRO fitted standard fuel pump and run on 50:1<br />Like a new engine !<br />Until now<br />Starts fine,ticks over fine...
