    STATOR ON 1979 70HP

    iam having starting problems on my 70hp and checked the resistance between the red and blue wire on the stator as per the manual and it reads zero with no continuity. The manual says it should be around 3000 ohms from memory. Does this mean my stator is stuffed ?as i am still getting good spark...

    my mate took his boat out the other day and mixed his oil and petrol wrong, instead of 50:1 he did it 30:1 somehow and used about 15 litres os the mix before noticing , would this have done damage? as it still runs fine and compression is still good

    INLINE FUEL FILTER

    I Have a 70hp 1978 mercury 2 stroke which doesnt have an inline fuel filter and was thinking of adding a fuel filter inline. Would it work ok on a 2 stroke or would it filter all the oil?<br />Also which should a put it in the fuel line( eg after hand pump, before hand pump, on motor?)

    mercury 70hp

    i have just bought a boat with a 1978 mercury and have since been told that they are really bad for corrosion, is that true? Also does anyone have a manual in electronic form for this motor?
