    Tilt Trim switch

    I have a 1980 100 h evinrude, the tilt trim was not working so I cut the wires at the switch and ran them to the battery (up<down), the motor went up and down so I guess this probably means the switch is bad because I tested at the end of the line?     power tilt trim evinrude 100 horse

    Can anyone tell me how to let down the motor with power tilt, it is a 100 horse evinrude 1980 year. The power tilt is not working and the motor is stuck in the up position, can u use the wires(3) that go to it and try each one strait to battery?
