    Starter vs. ignition problem?

    I have a 2000 Yamaha 115hp 2 stroke. When I turn the key to start, it begins to crank and if I let go of the key and it returns to the on position it will continue to crank. Also sometimes when it starts, I can still hear the starter whining for a couple of seconds. Any ideas on this problem? Thanks

    Lower unit drain plug stuck; suggestions?
