    Hey guys just bought a 1989 Checkmate Vision last year with a 454 merc (BRAVO ONE) and will be changing the oil for the first time this year, Just wondering what kind of oil i should run in it? synthetic??? 15w - 40??? let me know THANK YOU!!

    checkmate vision help upgrading prop

    hey i have a 23' 9" checkmate vision with a 454 and bravo one drive, running a 48-13704 a45 23p mirage plus stainless prop. at wide open throttle i am reading about 5000-5100 rpm ... i know i should be only around 4500 rpm at wot, if i go to a 24p prop would that be fine or is there a better...

    Coil issue??

    I have volt tester my coil which is with an external resistor, and with the wires from my ignition i have 12.6, but when i hook it to my coil it drops to 4.8, and i am not getting spark on the plugs?? I have also replaced the condenser in the cap.

    MCM 120 Head Removal

    I have removed the head from my dads MCM 120, Was just wondering if the is anything special i need to do when replacing the head gasket? also was wondering if anyone knew the torque specs for the head bolts? thanks

    Blown Cylinders???

    I am helping a Friend with is 79 searay and it has a 4 cylinder in it ... i compression tested the cylinders cold and the front has 125 the back 90 and zero in the middle 2 ??? could this be a bad head gasket??

    Motor Runs Good then Boggs out and stalls?????

    the motor is running good and the boat is plaining off for about 1 min then it slowly boggs down and will stall unless i back the throttle off almost to neutral . the temp gauge is fine and the fuel filters are clean . ive adjusted the timing and the choke . any suggestions???

    My boat seems to be running great but when you get up to WOT the motor begins to surge?? just a little then gets better, then worse, and vise versa ??

    Twin 350's, Trim issue

    I have twin 350's which don't seem to trim at the same rate, and was wondering what was involved it installing one of those bars between the motors?? also is there a setting to adjust the trim settings??

    liberator 1986 Twin 350 Losing RPM's??

    My boat seems too be losing power in one motor, after running wide open for a bit. The starboard engine loses rpms slowley after running for a while and if the throttle is pumped it will go back up but then loses again??? the other motor runs strong??? any suggestions???

    Leaking Mechanical Fuel Pump

    I noticed a rainbow when my bilge turned on, so i checked for fuel leaks and found a dark liquid dripping from my fuel pump, is this oil and gas mixed>>?? or just oil?? i have removed it and the gasket between the pump and motor (where it was leaking) is worn so i will replace it, anything else...

    Throttle issue

    When i push my throttle all the way down in forward the motor tends to bogg but when i pull it back just a bit the motor runs fine?? i have checked linkage and everything is good ... butterflys straight up and down when throttle fully open ... is there any reason for this??

    Sometimes when I start my boat a black pool of something comes from the exhaust i believe ??? what is this and How do i Correct it??
