    Johnny 4st 140 vs yam115 for my sea hunt 186

    I'm sold on 4 stroke for my Sea Hunt 186CC(max pwr=150) I can probably get the Johnson/Suz 140 for same or alittle less than the yam115 from same dealer. I'll be in salt a lot possibly trolling some. Which would you choose?

    How long can I expect a Yam 4st 115 to last?

    I appreciate all the help I'm getting lately. I'm buying my first new boat and tring hard to buy right. I want to keep this boat and motor 10-15 years without tons of costly repairs. I'm getting a lot of advice that 2st carbs are dirty and noisey but proven and least likely to have failures 5-10...

    Experience with "marine superstore"?

    There's a dealer in Va. that has some amazing prices, 2-3k lower than local. There are several local dealers that service the motor I'm looking at. Will I run into trouble bringing in a boat and motor bought out of state(only one local guy sells the same hull)?

    Rude 115 vs Yam 130

    I know this is probably apples and oranges but these two motors are very close in price so I am considering both for a 2003 Sea Hunt 186CC. What would you get?

    Why same displacement on Johnny 90 and115?

    These two motors have same bore,stroke displacement. Does the 115 really develop more hp? Opinions on pros and cons of either? How about same comparisons re rudes?

    I'm in the market for a 90 or 115 and get so much conflicting advise re omc vs merc vs yamaha vs 2 vs 4 stroke. any independent (consumer report-type)sources of info? What do y'all prefer, proc/cons -I'll be in salt water mostly.

    82 omc 70 with spark at only #2

    I have an 82 Evinrude 3cly 70 cd3 ignitionn that's run great for years. It now will start and idle but stalls as soon as I throttle up. There's great spark at #2 but none at 1 or3. Wires not the prob. I also put a meter on the coils. My meter is a little wacko,so I can't tell you the true value...
