I have a mercruiser 5.0 carb v8 and it has an electric pump.
I will be installing a fuel flow sensor and can only put it before the installed fuel filter...
so is it going to be a problem to have a 2nd fuel separating filter prior to the original fuel filter (running 2 filters instead) so...
My alpha one trim sender hose started to leak at the connector where it goes into the gimbal housing just above the anode...
Noticed that the hose would wiggle loose compared to others and it lost all the oil overnight and the drive is completely down...

1. where's the best location? engine compartment is kind of cramped and I was thinking of putting it on the floor of the engine compartment off to the side (not under the engine)

the drain plugs all drain the coolant side...
I know flushing with muffs after every use are still helpful but I'm more curious about with short term storage and any need to drain that area...

cutting the metal bracket to put in the FWC has caused a lot of metal dust to accumulate on the engine. I have vaccumed most of it off but was thinking hosing down the engine and then spraying stuff on it might be a good idea...

Here's the situation I have a 2006 mercruiser 5.0 carb that has never seen the water other than muffs. This was an 06 leftover and engine manufactured Oct 05. Purchased 11-06
It was allegedly winterized by selling dealer.

I just installed a fresh water cooling kit and haven't put any coolant yet...
Do you recommend the boat specific coolants (20dollars a gallon) or is regular automotive coolant adequate consider it won't be changed yearly if at all...
