I have a 1970 9.5 9022c envinrude. Need to change the water pump, need to know the steps to do so.
How is the Stainless steel plate installed(is it sealed some how to the base?)
Is the housing sealed to the base? what do I use as there is no gasket.

The faces of my gears have a darker look than clean metal, did not have any bits on the magnetic screw when doing lube change, But there was a 'tiny' bit of metal(furry looking) on the screw end but...
Drained the lube in my Cobra outdrive: Oil appeared milky and when I removed the fill(middle) plug about 1 oz of clear water came out the drain hole.
The rest of the oil was half and half betwenn normal and milky.
I removed the top cover and the oil was milky there also.
So my question is now...

another place say to use Transmission Fluid.

I have just purchased Corsica Sunbird 175 with a OMC 3.0 I see that there are ones made by Ford and Gm. How can I tell what mine is. I've looked around but cannot find info on making this Identification.
