I'm assuming so, but you know how that goes. It's the key that was in it when I first pulled the flywheel to re-glue the magnets last year in any case. It fits tightly in the flywheel. A little less so in the crank, but not enough to cause any noticeable movement.

Correct. I can pull it out and move it forward but there is no change in the throttle. When in gear it seems to work correctly, although it's a bit stiff.
My control doesn't have a button, you just pull it out to bypass the shifter as Jerry mentioned. But, I don't get any throttle movement at all unless it's in gear.
Choke is working properly with the key push.
