Sometimes it is pretty busy at our marina and there are only 2 washdown stations. When it is busy, I typically trailer the boat to my house (ahout 15 mins away) and flush the motor there and wash down the boat and trailer with soap and water. Is there any problem with doing this?
Thanks
David
Hi:
I have a 1984 50HP Johnson SeaHorse. I do not have the original owner's manual but a SELOC manual. I plan to get the original manual but in the meantime can someone help me with motor starting questions. I have a control box like what is in the picture (sorry it so small). Basically it...
Recently purchased used Crestliner with 50 HP Johnson (1980s). Did two sea tests and the motor ran great and fired up quickly both times. Seller seemed like an honest guy. I asked him whether he thought I should have the motor serviced and he said it should be in good shape and that he...
My older 16" Crestliner has very little access to the bilge area. The only access I have is a small cutout under the motor well where the bilge pump sits. I cannot even see in that area but can reach in and feel the bilge pump. The deck is pretty open as there are only 2 seats. The deck is...
Hi:
I get nervous trailering my boat as I am pretty new at it. I just replaced my old rusted EZ loader roller trailer for a galvanized bunk trailer. I know squat about trailers. The galvanized trailer is in great shape with new tires, bearing, and no rust so that puts me more at ease. But...
Hi:
Recently purchased a 1972 Crestliner Apollo - 16 Ft. Nice boat that has ample freeboard and runs well in the ocean the few times I have taken it out. Last time however the swell was pretty substantial and we were pounding against the waves pretty good. There was a pretty good thud each...
Hi.
I want to add a second set of lights to the trailer guides I installed which are the white PVC type 4 feet high. I figure if the submersible lights fixed to the trailer go bad I will then have the second set up high. But how do I wire this? Do I just splice into the existing wires? I...
New boat owner. 16ft older Crestliner. Has bilge pump located in small cutout area in deck under motor well so not easily accessible. Bilge pump pumps out most water but there is always some left in there. Is there any good way to get this area completely dry? We have boat inspections here...
Hi. Just replaced old rusted trailer with nice galvanized escort trailer. Only problem is the chines do not quite fit inside the bunks which results in the chine on one side of the hull sitting on the bunk. Is this a problem?
It is a 16foot Crestliner Deep V with 50hp outboard.
Also, the...
