My son hit a sand bar and must of thought this thing was an antique mud motor, ended up stripping out the gear that turns the prop. The shear pin was bent but didn't break in time to save the gear. The gear does have some corrosion which could explain why it failed.

Picked up a Commando 500. Some numbers off of a plate on frame T-642-04-c #6237971. Sticker with serial number#2174. Has a Techumseh Motor #610715. From what I found online it appears to be from 1970 and is 5hp.
I does not have its own tank on the motor and before I spent money on a fuel tank...
