    1996 Evinrude 48 Special---OCTANE?---

    I just bought a 96 evinrude 48hp special and the guy told me that it is a high compression engine which calls for high octane fuel. I am not sure if he is correct about the high compression part. I understand the need for high octane in high compression, but I didn't think they made outboards...
